Collect Pledges - Be a Rock Star

To join in Rock to Rock, you can just register and join in the fun on April 24th. But we're seeking riders who really rock to collect pledges -- raising much-needed funds for local environmental organizations.

Here's how it works:

  1. You download a pledging packet that helps you set a fundraising goal, figure out a strategy for reaching people, collect pledges, etc. You can check out the 2009 pledging packet now, and check back in shortly for an updated version.
  2. When you register, you will be asked to set up an individual pledging page on Rock to Rock. This page is an amazing tool for spreading the word about your ride.
  3. When you set up your page, you will have the chance to set a fundraising goal, and to decide where you want the money you raise to go: just to one organization, or to all the great Rock to Rock participating partners?
  4. You reach out to friends, family, co-workers, etc., and convince them to support your participate in Rock to Rock. Your individual fundraising page will help alot; it'll help you set up links on facebook, set up emails, etc. You can also do it the old reliable way with the paper forms in the pledging packet
  5. You turn out for a great ride on April 25th, with lots of supporters backing you up. You feel pretty great, because 100% of the funds you raise go to support great local environmental organizations.
  6. We give fun prizes to you and the other rock stars who collect the most pledges.

Sound good? Registration starts soon!.

3. Provides hundreds of community events -- nature hikes, farm festivals, volunteer days, trail runs.
4. Makes sure New Haven is a vibrant, healthy, safe city -- by preserving greenspaces, encouraging outdoor recreation, and making good use of our parks.
